Concepts
This section outlines essential concepts that will help you understand and navigate both our applications and documentation.
Roles
User permissions are managed through role-based access control, with some roles scoped to specific applications. A user may have different roles across different applications (e.g., the same person can be an Energy Operations operator, Repair Center manager, and have no role in Coincident Peak Management). The available roles are:
- Admin: global role with full visibility and editing permissions across all applications.
- Managers: application-specific role with permissions similar to Admin but limited to their assigned application.
- Operators: designed for technical staff with read/write permissions restricted to tasks necessary for their operational responsibilities.
- Customers: limited primarily to read access and communication via work order messages. This role allows customers to track work order status, purchase ASIC Assure Warranty policies, and access similar services.
The apps
The Admin Portal Suite is broken down into six main apps:
Management: provides a centralized interface for managing cross-app entities such as sites, customers, and other settings.Repair Center: provides the framework, workflows, and management tools to run an ASIC Repair & Service Center.ASIC Assure: facilitates creating and managing warranty contracts and claims.Energy Operations: reports prices, costs and, bids on energy market data, streamlining purchase and sale operations and revenue calculation on arbitrage strategies.Coincident Peak Management: allows users to monitor the electricity grid load forecast and to manage curtailment to avoid transmission fee on peak hours.Hosting App: provides essential hosting site tools for visitor logging, lifecycle management integrations and equipment inventory.
