Concepts
This section outlines core concepts required to navigate the applications and documentation effectively.
Roles
User permissions are managed via Role-Based Access Control (RBAC). Roles are scoped to specific applications, meaning a single user may hold different roles across different apps (e.g., an Operator in Energy Operations but a Manager in the Repair Center).
Available roles include:
- Admin: A global role with full visibility and editing permissions across all applications.
- Manager: An application-specific role with Admin-level permissions restricted to the assigned application.
- Operator: Designed for technical staff, this role provides read/write permissions restricted to specific operational tasks.
- Customer: Primarily a read-only role with communication capabilities via work order messages. This role enables customers to track work order status, purchase ASIC Assure Warranty policies, and access related services.
Applications
The Admin Portal Suite consists of six primary applications:
- Management: A centralized interface for managing cross-application entities such as sites, customers, and global settings.
- Repair Center: Provides the framework, workflows, and management tools required to operate an ASIC Repair & Service Center.
- ASIC Assure: Facilitates the creation and management of warranty contracts and claims.
- Energy Operations: Tracks hourly, daily, and monthly energy costs, downtime, market bids, and energy consumption. Includes reports and historical pricing charts.
- Coincident Peak Management: Provides tools to monitor forecasted and actual load, and manage CP curtailments.
- Hosting App: Provides essential hosting site tools for visitor logging, lifecycle management integrations, and equipment inventory.
